This week was the Girl Scouts' Lilburn Day Camp. I don't have any pictures of Jessica there, but here are some pictures of Elyse:

Today was Pirate Day for Elyse's troop!

Serendipity 2018

This weekend Anna and the girls went to Serendipity, the annual Girl Scout gathering at Camp Meriwether. They've been going every year for quite a while now; I believe this was Anna and Jessica's sixth year there, and Elyse's fourth.

Here are some pictures Anna texted me of their activities:

You might notice that Elyse is in different clothes in the picture immediately above than she is in the others. By this point she had changed into her ballet outfit so should could do the dance she's been rehearsing for weeks now--her own take on "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy--at the talent show. They tell me it went very well. Unfortunately, they had to use Anna's phone to play the music, so she couldn't take any pictures. (Note to anyone reading this years in the future: Yes, in 2018 we use things we call "phones" to play music and take pictures. They are also occasionally used to make calls, but frankly not the often.)

Elyse and the Girl Scouts at the Chocolate Factory

Today Elyse's Girl Scout troop went to Chamberlain's Chocolate Factory in Roswell (which Granny and Pa also visited a few months ago with the JOY Club from Ingleside) to learn a little bit about chocolate (like the fact that it's a vegetable--or at least Elyse now says) and make some treats.

Elyse at the Girl Scouts STEM Expo

Today Anna and Jessica and Elyse attended the Girl Scouts SUPER STEM Expo at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, and Jessica sent me these pictures (from Anna's phone):

She's creating a rocket in the picture above. 

I have no idea what's going on here, but it makes me think of a vacuum cleaner (but probably isn't.)

Elyse at Tree Top Quest

Today Elyse's Girl Scouts troop had their end-of-the-year adventure by going (for the second year in a row) to Tree Top Quest in Buford to climb around up in the trees. Here are some pictures Anna took of Elyse doing just that:

Serendipity

This weekend, Anna and the girls went to Serendipity, the annual Girl Scouts camping event. (And Elyse sang "Let it Go" at the talent show!) Here are three pictures Jessica took there:

Zoo Trip with Elyse's Girl Scout Troop

Today Elyse and I went to Zoo Atlanta with her Girl Scout troop:

(This is only half of the troop, and one of them you can barely see. All nine girls did make it.)

Girl Scout Re-Dedication and Stone Mountain

Today we went to Briscoe Park in Snellville so Jessica could participate in her Girl Scouts troop's rededication ceremony, which many troops begin their meeting year with as "an opportunity for girls and adults to renew their commitment to the Girl Scout Promise and Law" (as the Girl Scouts Web site describes it). Even though she's not in Jessica's troop, or even officially in any troop at all, Elyse also participated (until she decided it would be more interesting to play on the playground).

After that, we went to Stone Mountain, which, despite it being one of our favorite places, we hadn't visited in several months. Mommy and Elyse climbed to the top of the mountain while Jessica and I took the skylift up.

After we walked around the top for a while, all three girls walked down while I took the skylift down so I could get the car. (Parking for the walk-up trail is about a mile and a half away from parking from the skylift; we didn't want to all walk down the mountain, and then have to walk another mile and a half to get back to the car.)

We spent quite a while inside the Confederate Hall Historical & Environmental Education Center, where Jessica took dozens of pictures of us and the various geological and natural exhibits. Here are a few of her pictures:
