Burt's Farm, 2024

Today made our annual trek up to Burt's Farm in Dawsonville to look at pumpkins and feel like it was fall (which it was). The place was, as I expected, very busy (this being a weekend and Gwinnett County schools being out on Fall break); nonetheless, Anna and Elyse both made purchases and hauled them back to the car.

Fairytale Cottage

This past weekend we stayed at a Fairy Tale Cottage in Chickamauga, Georgia. It was a pretty cool place, all decked out, as perhaps you can imagine, in fairy tale stuff -- miscellaneous decorations, books, figures, furniture, etc. Here are some of the pictures I took of the cottage.

(These four Anton Pieck prints were on the wall in the kitchen)

Pictures from Molly's Visit

Molly visited for a few days this week. She stayed with my parents; one day, some of us went for a picnic at Vines Park; another day, she and Anna met their cousin, Katie, at Stone Mountain Park. Here are a few pictures she took while she was here:

Fort Yargo State Park

Today we went to Fort Yargo State Park for a few hours. These are some of the pictures I took while we were there.

This is the (relatively) new visitors center

Inside is the gift shop, which is pretty good, but kind of dominates the visitors center

Anna texted me this picture of the fort when she and Elyse were walking around it.

This is the fort as seen from across the lake, through a 200mm lens

The two figures walking on the trail are Anna and Elyse

Five scenes from the High

Today we went to the High Museum to be all cultured and stuff. Here are some of the pictures I took (and one that Elyse took).

A Three-Day Vacation

Anna and the kids and I went on a three-day vacation to the mountains this week on Wednesday through Friday. Our adventures included a two-night stay in a rental house in Clayton, GA; a visit to downtown Clayton; a visit to Highlands, NC; a stop at Dry Falls in NC; and a visit to the Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center at Tallulah Gorge State Park on our way home

Here are some of the pictures I took:

The Renaissance Festival 2023

Today we went to the Renaissance Festival in Fairburn. Jenny and I both took a lot of pictures; here are some of them:

(All the pictures above of me, Elyse, and Anna were taken by Jenny. There aren't any pictures of Jenny because Jenny is most likely to take pictures of US, but, being the photographer, they don't end up in many of those pictures.)
