The Girls with Granny and Pa

This afternoon we had a photo shoot with the girls and their Granny and Pa. I don’t think we got the perfect image of all four of them together that my mom had in mind, but getting a five-and-a-half-year-old and a two-and-a-half-year-old to cooperate for any length of time is close to impossible. In any case, I think some of the pictures turned out really well, even if they weren't quite what we had in mind:

Family Portraits

This afternoon we made some family portraits! Getting a five-and-a-half-year-old and a two-and-a-half-year-old to cooperate is challenging, but we managed to get a few good pictures.

(Jessica took this picture herself. You can see the wireless remote in her hand if you look closely enough.)

Uncle Norbert's Clock

On our mantle sits a late nineteenth or early twentieth century Ingraham clock that belonged to Anna's late Uncle Norbert. This is a photographic study of it I made last night after everyone else had gone to bed:

Learning with Elyse

Earlier today Elyse and I were reading Curious George's ABCs.

"'N is a Napkin, Nice and Neat,'" I read to her. Then I asked, "Do you know what comes after N?"

She said, "Yeah."

"Okay, what comes after N?"

"Two!"

Anna's Cups

This is a study I did last night of two cups Anna made in a college pottery class, many years ago:

The Girls

The light in our sunroom can be really wonderful, and is perfect to capture with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Here's Jessica sometime Saturday afternoon:

Here's Elyse in Mommy and Daddy's bedroom, trying on Mommy's glasses:

(She still loves wearing her swimsuits, like the Cinderella one above, though she isn't as insistent on it lately.)
