About
the Photographs
So
much of our culture today seems to reward everything that is crude
and callous and obvious and loud.
I want to celebrate that which is simple and beautiful and useful
and lasting.
I find my subjects on the back roads and in the small towns
of my home state: doors and windows, brick and wood, the sweep
of a road and the rise of a building. These pictures
represent some of the beautiful things I've seen
in various Georgia towns, including Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Jackson,
and Douglas.
